Bipolar. The very word can wreak fear in parents, caregivers, siblings, as well as the patient. The field of mental health is so vast and often undiagnosed that we cling to phrases like "clinical findings, chemical imbalances, new studies have found...........". Most of the information available is text book terminology and medical terms. Anyone close to this subject will look for anything helpful for the very day and moment it is happening and for everyone concerned. Here is a small book written by someone who has dealt with the subject extensively and can advise how to handle both the patient and those with the responsibility. She offers steps to follow that though sometimes difficult, can bring understanding and can be successful and forgiving. I urge anyone touched by this disease or just looking to have a better understanding to give it a read. You'll be better educated and informed.
