'A new and important tool for clinicians and parents. It clearly explains the rationale for the complex pharmacotherapy used to combat the early-onset form of this progressive illness that can devastate the lives of its youngest victims.'-Child & Adolescent Bipolar Foundation, USA

'This book is an excellent resource for clincians who treat children with bipolar disorders and parents who want to know more about the diagnosis and treatment of these complicated disorders.'- Amazon.com

5.0 out of 5 starsExcellent All Around Book About Bipolar Disorder in ChildrenDecember 21, 2002
    By Rick Deckard
    Format:Paperback

This book was written by three experts in the field and it is practical and well written. The first five sections cover the diagnostic fine points of bipolar disoder in children and adolescents. There is a well written and interesting chapter on biological causes and mechansisms. The last six chapters cover treatment and are very timely and useful covering the use of the newer atypical antipsychotics and combination treatment. This book is an excellent resource for clincians who treat children with bipolar disoders and parents who want to know more about the diagnosis and treatment of these complicated disoders.
